Service providers for the ‘GET.Transform Distributed Generation in Sub-Saharan Africa’ Support Programme

The Distributed Generation (DG) Support Program provides support to both electricity regulators and utilities in ten Sub-Saharan African countries with integrating DG onto their electricity networks. The program runs from October 2023 to June 2026 and is implemented by Sustainable Energy Africa NPC (SEA).

As part of this support SEA wishes to appoint a service provider to customise and further develop an existing online DG Application Platform for use in Namibia and Eswatini. South African utilities have sucessfully utilised this Platform to accept and process DG requests to connect to the network, and it now needs to be customised and extended for use in the above two countries. The Platform enables customers/installers to submit online applications to utilities for the connection of DG systems (Solar PV and other generators with or without Batteries). It also supports utility officials in checking applications for compliance and enables regulatory oversight. The prospective service provider is expected to further develop and improve the platform over the
