TITLE: THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CLIMATE CHANGE SUPPORT PROGRAMME PHASE VI (LGCCSP6) AIMED AT SUPPORTING LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN PREPARING CLIMATE CHANGE PROJECT PROPOSALS IN ONE SELECTED MUNICIPALITY IN EACH OF THE NINE (9) PROVINCES

The (GIZ) Climate Support Programme Phase IV (CSP IV), is looking for a service provider to conduct trainings and build the technical capacity of municipalities in developing project proposals for climate change response projects that will enable municipalities to access finances that would augment the fiscal instruments available to municipalities. This work is led jointly by the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment (DFFE), and the South African Local Government Association (SALGA).

The work is directed by the National Climate Change Response Strategy, and aims to promote alignment, co-ordination and capacity building supporting the implementation of climate change response at the local level, through building the technical capacity of municipalities. This is phase six of the project which will be conducted at one selected municipality in each of the nine (9) Provinces.
