Vice-Chancellor
In 2024, SMU proudly marked a decade of excellence, so much so that they climbed up the rankings among South Africa’s universities – as adjudged by Times Higher Education Rankings. SMU has initiated the search for a Vice-Chancellor and is actively progressing through its recruitment process. To enhance the candidate pool, the university is expanding its search while considering candidates who have already submitted their applications. Once this phase is complete, a shortlisting process will be conducted, integrating candidates from both sources.
